I was 100% finished up with this street fighter build and I noticed a burn smell, i quickly unplugged the monitor and noticed the rgb cable had touched a cap and started to melt and attached itself to a cap. I let it all cool down and pulled the rgb cable off the cap and now when I turn on the monitor I get the power up noise but no picture. I looked at the cap and it looks ok, but what the heck do I know( zero about chassis). As I had the game on and smelled the burning smell the picture quickly faded down and then eventually out. Anyone have the ability to repair the chassis for me ? I would like someone who can diagnose it to make sure there are no other issues than possibly a bad cap.
Thanks
Chris

I assume you have checked the RGB wiring to make sure it is good? And that the board is still outputting good video and didn't get some type of spike back down the video lines?

And have you tried replacing that cap? It's rare for a cap to get so hot that it would melt a wire across the top of it.

You should pull the chassis and look it over for any burnt areas, especially around the flyback...

the rgb cable is fine just a small melt mark that did not make it through, I don't have the ability to replace/solder caps so not sure on that one, However I will be removing the chassis today to check for burn marks or other things not looking good.

Here is the rgb cable and the cap it was attached to
