I was just notified by Asahi Seiko that they are no longer going to support coin mechanisms. They are going to refer all customers who need replacement parts to MikesArcade. Bummer...

Really? I was expecting to read something like Miyamoto dying...

Does that mean the parts are no longer going to be produced or only that they won't sell them directly? If it's just a matter of paying a bit of a premium at Mike's, that's not so bad.

Yeh I'd like to know the answer to that also. Asahi Seiko does primarily make parts and coin equipment for slot machines and vending machines. I could not see them discontinuing all coin handling products.

Funny, just noticed the other day that Mike's now carries all the individual A-S parts on their site and now this.

Oh well. Worst part is that if I order one thing from Mike's I'm usually going to end up buying a ton of other shit to fill out the order. It's as bad as going to Bob's website lol. :p

Sounds to me like Mike's got exclusivity on parts sales.

Either he muscled his way into it, or Asahi simply got tired of dealing with all the tiny orders and phone calls from guys like NERD.

Either way, that sucks, because Mike's shipping rates and markups are outrageous - never bought a single thing there, never will.

Honestly I'm amazed and confused that they're still manufacturing these coin mechs in 2012.

Are the 740/740-A designs even being used in anything remotely contemporary, or is it just Nintendo arcade machines from the 70s/80s?

Well that sucks. I've never ordered anything from mike's (and never will) because i've read all the stories about how rediculous and fucking stupid the shipping is.

Fuck it, we need them bad enough Takeman can have them made, right?
