I have a recently acquired s6000. When it powers on all the lights come on but no LED error codes or anything. It came with a lot of paper work and has had rom errors in the past. Also when the MPU is in, the led on the MPU does not light at all. When the MPU is out there is still no error codes displayed on the front led display. The battery is tested dead on the MPU and a new one is on order. Question is this when the MPU is out should any error codes be displayed on the front? Also does the MPU led usually light even if broken MPU is bad?

Regards,
Rob

Sounds like a power issue. The machine will not display error codes if the MPU is removed because the MPU is what determines error codes. Its like removing the brain from the body. Check the output on your power supply, sounds like it may not be powering the MPU.

Could definitely be power so good advice to check that. I would also check the MPU for corrosion. There should be a large capacitor that will be green, on the same side where the coin type battery is located, but opposite corner. Im betting it has leaked and damaged the board. I think you can purchase a replacement board for around $100 or less.
