I have this sami where as soon as you coin it up, it starts to play. I checked all the leafs for the coils on the back door and nothing is stuck or touching where it shoulndt..also the start button leaf isnt stuck either.. none of the wiring is hacked..

would a coil be causing this? as in the 0 degree coil or the start coil?

any help would be appreciated

My newly acquired Sea Raider is doing a similar thing. I checked all the relay contacts but it appears that the score motor keeps running just from its own momentum. When the 0 position detent opens the switch to the motor, the motor slows down but keeps turning enough to run through the detent and close the switch again so it runs forever. If I apply some light finger pressure to the motor disc it will stop at the 0 position detent. Adjusting the switch contacts helped but sometimes it still runs past the 0 detent. This must be an issue with the motor but it seems odd that it's turning too freely as I would expect it to turn less freely with age.

Don't know if this is your issue but could be if your score motor is running continuously.

hey carl, well i just figured it out.. seems if you have teh PEG in the 1 play 1 quarter spot it auto starts. if you put it in for 2 plays with 1 quarter its fine.. it seems thats the way it is cause i have 2 sami's and they both do the same thing when you set it for 1 play 1 quarter. i guess midway decided to make it that way as soon as you deposit a quarter it starts, which seems right, why would you hit start when you dont need to with 1 play.. mabey try your settings and see if its similar

It's tough when some of the game adjustment informaiton disappears...I'll keep this in mind during my restoration of my S.A.M.I.

Thanks for sharing guys!

anything (part) missing that might have broken with age or wore down? do you have the schematic for it?
