When no chemical will help....cut it down the middle twice with my dremel and still took a little prying with a screw driver to fall off...you can see all the rust where the grommet was..and the inside of the grommet bushing is solid rust..

Hey, atleast you didn't damage the shaft.. Had the same issue with a midway one a month ago.. Soaked in every chem I had. Nada.. Cut it off with my Dremel and took a chunk out of the minty shaft.. :(

Only one chemical concoction for that job. PB Blaster. Go ahead and laugh. That shit is voodoo magic in a metal container! =)

When all else fails, thank goodness for those little cutoff wheels though, eh? Such a handy little tool, the Dremel.

Holy shit you ain't kidding, I love that PB stuff. Used it to free up a hinge on a Dig Dug CP that had rusted solid. One spray and it started wiggling, two sprays and the whole thing finally moved again

This is the only stuff I use! WD-40 is just not the same, this stuff eats rust.

Excellent for automotive work too, which I do.

The progression of stuff I use..

WD-40.
Pb blaster.
And when those fail..

Acetone and transmission oil extra care must be use. It will discolor plastics and eat rubber.

I like Sea Foam. I use it to loosen up Oxygen Sensors in exhaust systems. It eats rust for lunch, like a hungry Pac Man.

PB Blaster works too.

Oh shit, don't get me started on Sea Foam! It's PB Blasters voodoo brother from another mother. Guy named Dunk has a classic procedure on using Sea Foam to de-carb outboard engines. Amazing stuff!

I sea foamed my engine in a Dave n busters parking lot once at a car meet...the smoke cloud coming out of my exhaust was pretty impressive lol
