Nov 28, 2023: A few days ago we ran a routine, minor upgrade on our SQL database. Much to surprise, we learned today that it prevented a number of our users from logging into our forums, or using other parts of our site. It turned out that the SQL database update took it upon itself to move it's configuration file offline. Without it, the site didn't work correctly, though it wasn't obvious since it continued to be used. The configuration file has been restored and hopefully all is better now.

My fellow Americans, I am pleased to tell you I just signed legislation which outlaws Russia forever. The bombing begins in five minutes - Ronald Reagan

Started with a pretty beat Rush'N off of Ebay for $500. It was a converted Joust with a control panel and marquee. The only thing left is the marquee and the internal parts which were chewed up pretty bad.

Cabinet and Hardware:

Built brand new black melamine cabinet
Stripped and powder coated, bolts, brackets, speaker mesh
Stripped artwork off wood control panel, bondo, sanded
Powder Coated coin doors, cleaned up coin bucket
New T-molding
New Locks
New Vinyl Casters
New Power Cord
New Speakers
New Marquee Light Fixture/Bulb
New buttons, restored and rebuilt joystick
Cleaned up inside mirror

Cosmetics:

Got the original art from the other guy who made the yellow version but needed to re-do most of it. The idea and original files were a good starting point.

Custom Bezel, CPO, Side art: unbelievable amount of time tweaking and dialing in these graphics, then printing and re-printing to get them to fit right on the cabinet.

CPO: Added logo, cleaned and straightened graphics, redid some parts
Side art: re-scanned my NOS side art, scaled up to fit williams cabinet, finished knife to go through entire logo. Cleaned up a lot of edges.
Bezel: re-worked bottom graphics and all edges, cleaned up fuzzy graphics, reorganized instruction area
Original Marquee (OK shape, looking for NOS or nice one)
Custom W Williams logo coin inserts

Electronics:

Cleanup/restored inside guts: power supply, wire harness, PCB, etc.
NOS 19 KORTEK Monitor
New Fan
New Speakers

Thanks! I loved this one as a kid. One day back in 1987 I spent $20 and finally beat this game.

NICE! What did the original RA cab look like? I assume no where near this awesome. The thing I like the most other than the graphics on the art being large and clear, (not pix-elated) is that this looks like it was designed in the 80's.

Beautiful job..and VERY interesting and outside the box to do a restoration/rebuild/whatever of a kit/conversion type thing. That cabinet is eye candy

Don't mess with the Ronald...awesome...

Nice restore too!

I'm curious why the mom is wearing a tie under that sweater...IS ANYONE ELSE SEEING THIS?!?!?!

That is very impressive! The artwork looks great.
Reminds me that I need to finish the webpage I started last month for the Rush'N Attack high score save.... The score save was done several years ago, just never got around to posting it. I won't be selling any kits for it... just download and DIY.

Thanks guys! As far as I know, the cabinet on the flyer was only for the photo shoot. These were all conversions. I picked Williams because the shape was perfect for the artwork.

Fizgig, do you work??? just kidding! i can barely find the time to play my games let alone complete as many full on restorations as you seem to finish in the blink of an eye! amazing work

It was in decent shape but the wood cp needed some work, the inside was really clean (no hacks) which was refreshing as most cabs are pretty scary inside. The art files for this are huge, the only way to blow stuff up and keep it sharp is to scan stuff at a very high resolution. During this restoration, I found out the photoshop has a limit of 2Gig per file.
