Looking at a Rush the Rock sit down driver. The guy is very slow getting back with info and I need to know what I would need to pick this up with? I have a minivan but these full size drivers tend to be huge right? On that note does this one break up for shipping or is it one piece ala Afterburner? Thanks in advance folks, keen to see if I can score an actual driver.

I can measure mine if needed... I do know its about 30" wide and the assembled cabinet is close to 5 feet deep. IF it's dedicated it will come apart in 2 pieces, if its an upgraded Rush it will not.

This link may help....

Some of the measurements could be cut down by removing the green bezel since it accounts for most of the width and height also, could easily be removed with the proper tools. I'm betting a disassembled 2-piece cabinet could fit in a minivan. If the cabinet says "Extreme Racing" or if "Ruch the Rock" only appears on the marquee, then its a single piece unit. If you can haul it (and if it's a good price), get it. RTR is an excellent game.

A forklift, preferably.

According to the flyer, SF Rush was 30" wide, 65" deep, and 67" tall. It also weighed a whopping 425 pounds.

As mentioned by welove80s, the original Rush cabinet is one-piece. The dedicated cabinets for Rush the Rock can be unbolted into two pieces.

I bought a Rush at auction a couple years ago. We put the game on the liftgate of a truck, raised it up in the air, then I backed my pickup truck up so that my tailgate was even with the liftgate, then pushed the game over into the bed of my truck. Unloading it at home was... interesting. I had to take the green shroud off in order to get it through the door into my house.

Full size driver that does not come apart? That was a design flaw by Atari for sure. A pair of Rush the Rocks is something I eventually want to have. Good info to know.

2 guys can lift the cabinet if you totally strip it. I have gotten to where I can strip a Rush in 30-40 minutes accept for the wiring and footpedals . thats how I got 4 of them up my 15 stairs to the gameroom.then just reassemble.

Check the serial tag on the back of the cabinet to see if its a converted San Francisco Rush or original Rush the Rock. I got lucky, mines original and unbolts in the middle for easy transport. Another collector friend just got a converted Rush recently and moving it downstairs into a basement in one piece was difficult to say the least.
