So now that I have the force feedback working, another small issue has popped up.

The game with restart RANDOMLY. it might stay on for like 5 minutes and then restart back to boot up screen, or it might just restart as soon as the boot screen goes away.

Would this be a harddrive issue? Should I look into purchasing the Flashdrive for this game? Any recommendations?!

THanks in advance!!

Hi.

Check the Power Supply at the board to make sure your +5vdc which is your chip voltage is where it should be, which in most cases is around 5.05vdc.

If the Power Supply drops too low, this will cause the game to reset.

If it does stay consistent, play a game on it and see if the voltage still stays constant.

If you see the +5vdc dip to low, a reboot won't be too far off, and that may be the source of your issue. :/

A faulty Power Power Supply will cause any game to randomly reboot, among other things.

Hope that helped!

Thanks a bunch, I will give this a test tomorrow morning and see if this is the issue, I'm not sure which one I hope is bad, the power supply, or the harddrive, LOL!!!

Hi.

In my experience, if the game starts, the HD is usually ok. One thing you should do is make sure the inside of the game is free from dust, as dust that sits on electronics acts like a blanket that raises the operating temperature of all the internal parts (including the Hard Drive) and cause them to overheat and fail prematurely.

I would also check the temperature of the Hard Drive after the game has been on for 15 minutes. Put your hand on it. If you can't keep it there, it's too hot and may need a low CFM cooling Fan to keep it's temperature down. Try not to use a high CFM fan because you don't want a lot of airflow, just enough to displace heat.

Hope that helps!

welp, the HD does not get hot, Played if for like 30 minutes last night, AND it did not restart on me! I like your dust theory, so I will be cleaning off the board and trying that route.

There was also a factory mod that had to be done on the boards to stop random resets. Theres a 50mghz crystal that needed to be changed to a 48mghz part instead (at least thats the direction I seem to recall it going. Its in the middle of the board near one of the graphics processors I think.

I'll see if I can find any documentation...
