Rush the Rock Force Feedback problem

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone contributing info on troubleshooting the forcefeedback issues on the SF Rush games.

I bought a Rush The Rock Conversion that was in bad shape and in pieces for $150 recently. The owner said the game works, but the FF steering does not. I started scouring the forum for info and I came across this thread. I took a chance and bought 2 OPA541AP's off ebay for $10.95 each. The original chips were a little tricky to get out, but I managed to remove the chips and install new ones, applying artic silver ceramique to the backs to help with heat dissipation.

Last night, I finally had the opportunity to turn the game on for the very 1st time and low and behold....the wheel starts turning as it started it's calibration screen!! WOOHOO!!!

Just under $22 and I was able to fix the steering.....BUT IT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE WITHOUT YOUR HELP!!!

Thanks,
Darrell

i had the same thing happen to the force feedback on my konami racing jam...feedback only worked in one direction...changed out the 5k pot and it didn't help...changed out the Op Amp on the feedback board, now it works great

Replaced op amps my Force feedback is now fixed!! Thanks to the thread.

Does anyone have a recommendation to replace the temp sensor wire from board to heat sink?

Mine was slightly damaged while I was soldering and the game is resetting... Could be something else....

Another real common issue on these is teeth missing from the belt, or ribs, or whatever you want to call them. If you have one acting strange, make sure they are all there. In fact, I would probably change the belt anyway and the pot while its open just to make sure.

Installed two new OP-AMPS and a new 5k pot and got my second RTR working and networked. Thanks for the inside scoop. And so much for HAPP's $250 screw jobs... what a bunch of scumbags.

Just fixed one of these boards. Feedback only worked when turning left, nothing when turning right. Steering worked otherwise. Q1 was bad.
