I have a Rush the Rock Alcatraz and there is no video. The monitor is working and the game plays blind. The game has been in the same spot for about 9 years and has had a very easy life. Please let me know what direction I should head. Thank you.

if youve tested the monitor with a different game and for sure verified the monitor is 100% working, the next thing id check was the video wires to the pcb.

IIRC, rush uses a video card kind of like a pc mabye it took a krap.

EDIT.. hell now im having second thoughts.. i think rush 2049 uses a video card but the old school rush board might just be all in one..

Yep, Rush and Rush the Rock is a single board with the 3DFX integrated. How do you know the monitor is working properly and didn't take a dump? Did you test it on another game?

Just turning it on and off I can see the typical flash. And I have a light green hue when it is on.

To add to that, the Rush's are notorious for monitor/tube failure, so it would definitely be a good place to start.

Ok I finally got around to looking into this a little deeper. I found that if I turn the brightness up on the monitor. I get a black and white image of the game , no color. I had a friend bring a known good board over and had the same results. The game is working just no color. So I must have an issue with the monitor. I have never seen this issue with a monitor. I have replaced flybacks and cap kits so I am not helpless. Is this something that can be fairly easily repaired? It is a Wells monitor. I think 27 inch?

could be your neck board on the wells, they usually are the main problem with the newer wells unless you are using the vga/cga monitor

First order of business would be to give it a cap kit and swap out the fly while your are at it. They are relatively easy to work on, certainly more so that a Neotec. Also make sure your remote board is working properly.
Good luck, it is a great game.
