I'm looking at putting myself in debt to grab a rush 2049, the one i'm looking at has lines in the monitor and looks a little dim? Do you know what monitor this is, i would probably have arcadecup do a cap kit andy flyback transformer so i want to take this into account of the price. Thoughts on $ Thanks

pretty decent looking ones are selling for $1k-$1200 on ebay..

keep in mind that there are special editions and a few touranment editions out there. Someone was selling upgrade kits cheap a few months ago, but they were probably bootleg.

When you say lines, you sure you don't have a board problem? If the picture looks weak and there are retrace lines, caps might not fix it. Could be a worn out tube..

pic of monitor

ignore this pic, i have a better one a couple post below.

it's pretty hard to tell what are the lines you're referring to and what may be just reflection. it looks like it might have jailbars, which would be repairable with a cap kit.

can't see the lines you're talking about, but I doubt the average guy can ever score a good looking Rush for any less than $700. Its a good title that always seems to pull in good money.

let's try this one, if you look at the top(obviously) of the monitor you can see the lines. Also the picture on the tube is a little dim as you can see. Thoughts?

aaaahhh, now I can see. Unless I'm mistaken, those are lines caused by monitor trouble, rather than board. Probably wouldn't hurt to cap the monitor, but I think just turning the dial down a bit on the flyback, then increasing brightness/ contrast will tame those lines.

I've seen them sell around here for about $930 at the highest ebay auction, i'm not sure what the amusement auctions are doing on these. Any other prices you guys are seeing these go for to give a good price basis. thanks

Test play it to make sure it has no troubles.

I really would think $750 is a good price for a nice, clean unit. Less than $600 is a smoking deal. $800-$1000 is what could be asked for the machine, but ultimately takes longer to sell in this economy.

I think they made 2049 with 3 different monitors. Most I've sen use a Neotec 2702. Some I've seen with a WG 9200. The SE's were made with an early Kortek 27" tri sync. Just about every Rush I've had has had monitor problems, regardless of which make.

A 2049 with a monitor issue... around 800 bucks...
