One of my cabs the gas pedal is acting up. I couldn't even start a game pressing it multiple times but then on the game it was working a bit, then it stopped working midway through.

I've never worked on any issues with these games but I'm assuming it would be best to look at the pot for the pedal first? Is there anyway to test if it's bad outside of the game?

And if I need a replacement, where do I go about purchasing one?

So I swapped my clutch and gas pot today and put it back together, and they are both working fine lol so I don't know. Maybe it just needed to be fiddled with.

But I also learned how pots work and how the assembly is put together, so that was a fun learning experience.

A common issue is that the assembly and pots just need to be cleaned and relubed. Having 8 of these cabs, my go to fix for pedals acting weird (jittering input values, poor response, needing lots of force for game to detect a input):

1. Open pedal assembly and clean the spring and pot assemblies.
2. Check pot position when pedal is all the way depressed/pressed to make sure the pedal isn't overturning the pot. Adjust as needed.
3. Reinstall pedal assembly and enter test menu's control settings.
4. Hold TEST button to reset values. Press all pedals fully down ten times to calibrate minimum and maximum values. (You'll also need to do this to the steering wheel as well)
5. Play a few games and see how it feels. If it still feels like you're not getting full range, repeat step 2 as needed (you can do this safely while the cab is on, just make sure to reset the values each time like in step 4).

Yeah I went into the test menu and did that and was seeing no issues with the 2 I messed with. My plan was to just swap the clutch and gas because the clutch is hardly used, but after doing so, they were both working well.

I did however notice when I was in the test stuff, that the brake pedal is not 100% perfect. Like I would press the brake and let go, and every time I let go the value went up every so slightly. And sometimes I'd see it do that even when pressing another pedal and releasing it. The brake pot was the only one I did not mess with.

So I may just take it out and wipe it down and reseat it and see if it fixes that issue, although that issue didn't show any real issues when playing the game.

Yeah the brake has a spring that is always applying pressure. It tends to be the most jittery in my experience. As long as the lower bound value is consistent I usually find it fine to play with.

When I had the whole pedals unit out, it looked like the clutch and brake have the exact same setup as far as springs and stuff go. It was actually really cool to just understand how all that stuff works, and it is actually very simple.

Just be aware if the brake is fluctuating at rest, it can trigger the car to brake, which is really apparent when you are doing the "kid/handicapped mode" and it automatically accelerates after like 3 seconds. The car will brake and then racing for kids is really hampered/inconsistent.

My brake wasn't fluctuating but when I would press it and go back to fully extended, the value seemed like it went up by 1 each time, but then it eventually went back.
