I just picked up a Rush 2049 and the keypad is fussy. It requires a lot of pressure to get any of the buttons to trigger, and sometimes they beep twice. This is not ideal since my 5-year-old will be doing most of the driving. Any idea if a simple cleaning will help solve this problem, or do I need an entirely new keypad? Any pointers on how to remove it? I'm familiar with pins but this is really my first arcade game.

not sure how it comes apart but i always wondered why threy did that, i could see that thing being full of coke syrup residue etc.

I've never had to work on one, but yes I would imagine cleaing inside it would fix it. Somebody probably spilled a coke on it or something.

Also Midway released a golf game called "skins" that used the same keypad. so if it comes down to if and you need parts, it may be easier to find them for that game since it's a cheap game.
