I'm having keypad issues on a Rush 2049. In the Controls Test screen, it behaves as if all buttons in the right-most column are being depressed simultaneously (see picture). I have tried connecting a known good keypad and also disconnecting the keypad connector altogether and saw no change in the test screen. The wiring looks correct as far as I can tell.

Has anyone seen this behavior before? I'm guessing I could measure voltages on the 7-wire keypad connector and compare it to a working machine. It's just that I'm a noob when it comes to that stuff. Any better ideas?

Thanks,
Brian

I don't even remember where the keypad plugs in at... the one on our Cruis'n Exotica didn't do what yours is doing but rather it's just got a few buttons that you press and they don't register unless you push really hard. I tried taking it apart to see if the rubber part in the middle had anything to do with it, but the me of 2 years ago didn't know ish from fudge back then.

I would suspect that if you don't even have it connected and it's got stuck inputs that you have either a bad driver chip or perhaps cold solder on the pins of where the keypad plugs in at. it won't be in the wiring unless it's noticeably broken wires with the insulators broken and they're crossing (assuming the keypad is unplugged, but the wiring harness is still connected to the other board)

I don't know what boardset Rush 2049 uses, but I'm thinking it's something relatively similar to how Midway did it.
