Running an Oscilloscope on a Cinematronics Monitor Board

Real simple question -- I want to start tracing signals on my Cinematronics monitor board, and I don't need the CRT hooked up for that.

Can I disconnect the power/driver (heatsink) transistors as well?

In other words, can I scope the board with just the power, signal, and HV connected to the monitor PCB (disconnected yoke, heatsink transistors, and cap on tube), or will I fry something in the process?
I know you're not supposed to run the monitor with the heatsink transistors disconnected, but I was wondering if disconnecting the yoke/crt made it ok...

Thanks!

Has anyone ever tried connecting a 'scope in XY mode to a Cinematronics board set...?

I have a Star Castle monitor with an image I'd like to verify and tune.
I'd like to use my 'scope to verify a clean baseline for the image being created by the motherboards.

If no ones ever done this, then let's talk about where in the schematic to tap into the XY signals for the 'scope to read...
