So I had a very nice jamma adapter made for my MP board, because at the time I got it, I only had a jamma test rig to put it in. Fast forward a year and a half, I now have a dedicated Moon Patrol with no board, all wiring and a switcher hacked in. In my Jamma Rig, the MP board worked perfectly. When I first put it in the dedicated MP, I had no sound. 2 weeks later, I had no video. Is there a problem with just using a switcher and a jamma harness rather than redoing all the original wiring and rebuilding the original power supply?

Here are some pics of MP with a switcher.

My Moon Patrol is running off a switcher for the main board and the old PS for the coin door. And you know how much of an original linear PS bigot I am :D.

For most arcade boards, +5V is just +5V. It is only for boards run off of 6809s that have CMOS RAM for settings that you have to worry.

Yeah Phet All you need is the schematics and you should be able to run a switcher off the wiring pretty easy. I did in mine no problems. works great. Been running for 5+ years now. Good luck ...
