Hey all!

Working on restoring an Amplifone HV cage I've had lying around for a while now.

One thing I need would be the little rubber/flexible boot covers that go over the focus and screen wire connections (where the wires are soldered to the focus and screen controls).

Is there a source for these? If not, can I just add some heat shrink tubing as an alternative?

For B/W vector HV boots, we've been substituting with silicone tubing.
Do a search to find relevant threads by @andrewb and myself.

For your AMP application, you may need a solution with smaller inner diameter yet maintain a thick insulator dimension.
Focus G3 is approx 6kV. G2 is also in the kV range.

NOTE: Heatshrink is a low voltage (<600V) material. But even so, a "boot" insulator provides better/required safety.

Jon,
I use the insulator saved from my G07 rebuilds.........
It's the grey insulator that covers the red anode wire where it originates from the HVT.
It usually not glued / bonded to the HVT and comes right off with a slight twist.
As it is a larger diameter than what is usually needed, I either use a little silicon inside the insulator or a small clear wire tie to hold it in place.
