I have a very hard time believing Konami would time-bomb these games by putting non-recoverable data in a NVRAM that has a 10-year rated lifetime... that just doesn't make sense. Has anyone actually looked at the data stored in it to see what it is? On the games I've replaced them on they just get re-initialized when you go into setup and reset... so I assume they just hold bookkeeping info.
