I bought a Vs. Baseball set off ebay and it doesn't work for some reason. I know go figure right?! :)

The PPU's look different then my other RP2C04, is this normal?

I'm only getting a black screen on both monitors and I have tried the PPU with another EPROM set and get nothing. It appears they are both bad but I wasn't sure.

Anything else to possibly try?

Thanks, Dustin

What chip set are you trying to use them with?

There is more than one type of RP2C04 PPU:

- RP2C04-001 - Baseball, Pinball, etc.
- RP2C04-002 - Castlevania, Golf, etc.
- RP2C04-003 - Goonies, Excitebike, etc.
- RP2C04-004 - SMB, Ice Climber, etc.

The ones you have pictured are RP204-001 as you can see.

See for chip set compatibility:

I tried them with the baseball EPROMs they came with, then I tried them with a known good Pinball set that uses the same PPU. I just get a blank screen for some reason, they seem bad but it just seemed weird they were both bad at the same time unless the previous owner fried the whole board or something. My next test will be to try the 12 EPROMS with a known good RP2C04-001 and a random PPU on the other side.

The reason I really asked is because I was reading another thread about using jumpers and some board and CPU combination's not working so I thought maybe there was something I may be missing.

Either way thanks for the response.
