OK, the RC has been running great. Then all the sudden it started messing up in the middle of a game. I will power it up and everything is working fine, but after a few minutes of play the score will start messing up and the board will stop scoring. The flippers still work but the rest of the game stops.
Any ideas?

I recently got a Roy Clark and I was also having similar scoring issues. Try reseating/cleaning the 3 jamma-ish connectors on the bottom of the MPU board. I reseated J1 and my scoring started to work again temporarily.

I have not cleaned the connectors yet, but I will give it a try.
Would the filter cause an issue with it?

That filter cap is a known weak spot in the design (actually, the entire power supply is pretty shitty). When the cap ages....all kinds of crazy things can happen. Is it your problem?...hard to say. I can tell you this.....the small handful of Allied Leisure/Fascanation cocktail pinballs I've had to work on.......all had a bad or weak filter cap.

Worst case for you....replacing it is preventative maintenance. It's not a crazy big or expensive cap. Have you checked it? Someone could have already replaced it.....or it could be oozing out it's ends:D.

A ghetto way to check for ac ripple on a filter cap is to put a meter set to AC on the DC voltage the cap is filtering. You shouldn't see more than about .1V. Alternatively, you would use an oscilloscope. You could also check the cap with a capacitance meter. If the power supply is original it probably needs some attention anyway. I agree that cap should be changed if it's old and crusty. Without good power you're shooting in the dark with any other problems.
