ROWE TI-2 JUKEBOX. Sounds is slow and warbly and also has tons of distorted bass

I have a ROWE TI-2 that is almost working. I know NOTHING about these things.

Right now, it will play a record but the sound is very distorted and horrible sounding. There is a bass sound that is very low and rumbly that is present throughout the whole song. It is very unmusical. The music also sounds slow and very distorted overall.

So, where do I start? IS there a website or manual I can grab for this?

Does the record appear to be turning at the proper speed?

Could be you are getting some vibrations from the drive (slipping?) transmitted throught the pickup.

I would say the record is playing a little slower. Should I look under the record player?

I'd pull the turntable and check to see if the rubber drive wheel is turning freely, could just need a drop of oil. (in the center only, do not get any on the outer rubber part!) Is this a belt driven table? If so, make sure the metal shaft under the turntable is clean and oiled.

Or

if the drive motor (metal shaft) isn't turning as it should, it could mean voltage problems. Might explain the problems with the sound quality if the amp isn't getting enough power.

More likely a bad pickup/needle.

I lifted the turntable and moved all the parts around and now it's playing pretty ok.

However, now I am having trouble getting it to consistently play a record after I push the buttons.

Anyone have a PDF version of the TI-2 manual, troubleshooting guide, repair thingee, any documentation?
