I picked up this juke from a guy last night and everything is working except the lights that are supposed to flicker around the sides. Anyone here have one of these or have any idea what it would take to get these working?

the power supply that run these lights is probably burned up....its a common issue.

I've got one and the lights didn't work when I first got it. Turned out almost every single bulb was burned out or had bad contacts on the sockets. Machine came from a bar and was pretty sticky with smoke residue. Cleaning up everything helped a lot.

Also there is a switch located on the Lamp Control Assembly that was pretty funky inside. It's supposed to set the lights to flash or constant on modes, it cuts out sometimes, comes back on if you move it around. There should also be a sensitivity control near by. Check those.

Hello,

One of the reasons that the molex connector on the sound to light unit burns out is due to dry joints (cold joints USA) another reason is that the incorrect lamp is used.

The correct lamps are 14 volts at 90MA.

thanks guys.

Ok so I downloaded a manual online and went through everything [keep in mind Im brand new to the world of jukes] and figured out that there is actually no lamp control assembly in the unit... ha! so there ya go, thats why the lights didnt work. the whole unit had been removed prior to me getting it.

I ordered a new unit from A&B Jukebox Repair and its set to arrive tomorrow... so it should be ready to go after I get that plugged in!

Hi Click,

Before you plug in that replacement sound to light unit make sure that you have the correct voltage/wattage lamps in it, if you are in doubt then replace them.
One thing to check is if the lamp holders are the ones that you can just replace the lamp in, that way you can source the cheaper miniture wedge lamps rather than the complete thing.

You will also have to check that the cable that goes between the sound to light unit and the amplifier auxililary connection is still in the jukebox, if not get one from Bruce.
