O.k be easy on me , I'm new to jukeboxes. I've been working on a rowe r-94 , finally got everything working but the sound. How do I exactly test the speaker strips to see if I have power going to them? What exactly does the mute plug do? Here is the wiring set up ..is it correct? I also get no pop noise when turning jukebox on.

Hi,

Everything looks alright but the picture showing the volume control connection is not very clear and you do not show a picture of the molex socket for the speakers output on the amplifier, this should be the 4 pin molex connection on the upper left hand side of the amplifier the mute plug is just to the right. The mute circuit cut off the sound when the carousel/mechanism is scanning anf in the process of transfereing the record to the turntable, this is done to stop the clicks and bangs comming through the sound system.

I would check that the input is wired correctly and that you have an output direct from the 4 pin speakers out molex, use an extention speaker to test. It may be prudent to make up a test volume control (the volume plug molex uses pins 1, 2 and 5) in a test control you would short pins 1 to 5 and this would go to one side of a 10k log control and pin 3 would go to the wiper on the control.
