So I tried to attempt to hang my rowe eagle wallbox up today and it was unsuccessful. I need at least one other person. Anyway after I was done, I put it back where it was and turned it on. It booted up ok but the first thing I noticed was that my scrolling message that I set to scroll was not coming up. I went into service mode and got the errors found message. I scrolled to the errors log and it came up N 14-06 1 which according to my manual means low battery. Now I am wondering when I was moving it, maybe I knocked the battery loose. Unfortunately my manual does not mention anything about where the battery is or anything that I see. Does this take a watch style battery and where is it mounted.

Also I noticed when I tried to play one of the discs it said "so not allowed a" and would not let me choose that disc. I did a disc initialization when I first got it. Is the initialization something that is maintained by the battery? If so I guess it just lost track of it when the battery was low?

The battery is a coin cell type and it is soldered to the Central Control Computer (CCC) board. Yes, initialization is held in the battery backed memory. The machine is certainly old enough to need a new battery.

I unsolder and remove the old soldered-in battery and replace it with a battery holder and slip-in coin cell instead. Works better, plus when the battery runs down, you can buy the replacement in any grocery store.

I use a Mouser Electronics # 534-103 battery holder for 20mm cells. Then you can use a common 2032 battery.

Thank you for this information.. I have yet to look at it and hoping someone already did this but if not, its the way I will go. Are these batteries prone to leakage if left in for too long?

I changed out the battery in both of my ROWE jukes the other day. Battery holder form the shack was $1.19 each. It took about ten minutes to actually change the battery and they now work great. Just a hint, mark each plug in the CCC as you take them out to make putting it back together a lot easier. Neither battery had leaked but one was dead and the other was very weak.

Thanks for the tip, I will be sure to mark each plug. Do you by any chance have the part number for radio shack? Or can you tell me what the part is called exactly? I love to support my local economy by buying things local when I can and this would save me on shipping and having to wait.

Thanks again.

I don't have the part number, but it was in the battery holder parts drawer. It was the only battery holder of it's type everything else was for AA, AAA, C or D. I thtink it was listed as CR2032 battery holder around $1.19.

Just wanted to give an update, I got the battery and battery holder from the shack (thanks JBK for that) and got it solder in and it's working good now. Thanks Ken and JBK
