Hi there. I have a Rowe Combo R-92 and the orig changer went south. That is a pioneer M-410. I picked up a M-450 to swap in, I'm just not shure what Taps to use for the signal. I aussume I can use any +5v, Ground and Mute. Not sure what the signal tap would be called. Any help would be great.. Thanks.

I don't know about the M-450, I can tell you where they go on an m-426, not sure if the boards would be similar. From what I've seen a lot of these pioneer 6-disc changers are pretty similar.

There should be 4 wires though, +5, ground, "Play signal", and "Control"
I can speak from experience that not any old mute hookup will work for the play signal wire, there's something in that connection that enables the CCC to recognize that the CD changer is playing, when I hooked that wire up to the wrong connector, the CD would play and then reset after about 20 sec.

Here's where the wires were on the M-426:

Red and black wire (+5v) goes to location W149
Blue Wire (signal) goes to W121
Black/orange wire (ground) goes to w151
These three are located at the bottom right of the board (toward the front of the CD player)

Green Wire (controller) goes to D392
This is at the top of the board right in the center (near the remote control input jack at the back of the player), this one is soldered onto one side of the resistor at that location.

I have some pics posted over at Arcade Crusade of the board out of an old M-426 changer that failed, and I replaced. I clipped the wires but left the ends soldered in place for reference, so you'll see the little pieces of wire soldered to the board. Not sure if these pics will help or not...

Good luck. I picked mine up at auction for $20 and I love it, even moreso after getting that damn changer to work. :D
