While I was re-belting my BA-50 changer head, I noticed that the LEDs to light up the faceplate were on the dime side. After so many years of being on, the LEDs just weren't as bright as they probably were back in the 80's.

So, I developed my own replacement board. It arrived today, so I plugged it in. REALLY happy with the results.

It uses 4 small green SMD LEDs, and they're a little TOO bright. If I were to do it over, I'd increase the resistance to dim them a little more. However, the rich green lights up the front faceplate nicely; I'm happy.

So is it for sale? Kit? Parts list? Open source schematics file? Schematics image? Anything? Throw us a bone!

If folks are actually interested, I can get some made. Doing quick math, $20 a piece, which includes shipping. I would need ten folks to commit to buying. (I'm not a company, I do this for fun.)

I can post the schematics - that's easy. :) The hardest part is measuring the mounting holes and max size of the board to fit in the tight space. :D

My changer (BC-3500) feeds 5V to the front board. In the attached schematics, I bumped up the resistors from 87ohm to 120ohm, to dim the LEDs some.

I'll get some better pics of the board in the unit tomorrow afternoon, as well. :)

Doesn't look like it, sorry. :(

Looking at the manuals, the -25 takes a BA20 or BA20 unit, and those use two 28v bulbs, and has a different mounting plate. (It is possible the same bulbs are used for the bill entrance sensor.)

With some work, you could get a plate from a BA50 and use it, but you would need a large power-dropping resistor to get that 28v down. And if the same bulbs Are used for the entrance sensor, then it wouldn't work. :(

Resurrection.

But im looking at this. As im looking at a change machine.

Why not use a zener diode? I have seen them used in series on monitors.
