Started having problems with my 100a. It has the Pro Player. When it trys to play the cd it just spins a few times and then trys again and then puts the cd back. I cleaned the lens and it played a couple of cds and then the same thing started happening. Some adjustment needed or is the player going?

Thank you,
Joe

The laser/optic assembly is going bad. It can't read the discs due to a weak laser. You have these options:

Replace the optic assembly yourself and relubricate the mechanical linkages.

Ship the player out for repair.

Buy a brand new player (about $400 now).

Shop on ebay for a used working one of the correct version for Rowe jukeboxes.

Here's the link to the company that repairs them and will sell you the parts if you want to do it yourself (instructions for D-I-Y repairs are there too):

Another symptom of a bad cd player mech is if the cd momentarily spins backwards. Also if you have a full load of discs (100) and the software shows 99 or less got initialized, there's a good chance the laser is on it's way out.

Got a PRO2 Player from a friend and that fixed the problem. Now I will hook up the extension
speakers. Thanks for the info.

CDPRO2 is a direct plug n play replacement for the CDPRO player. Glad you got your machine playing again.

By the way, it is not uncommon to have a bad brand new player right out of the box. Because these players are made in Europe, they have to be made with lead-free solder. This causes a high failure rate.

A few months ago I went through THREE bad brand new ones defective right out of the box in a row! I was screaming at the distributor about the bad ones, but the problem lies with Phillips.

With the jukebox working good now I hooked up the extension speakers over the weekend.
I got a pair of MTX TP1200 speakers and cannot believe how good the sound is. These are great speakers and make the jukebox sound fantastic. Got them on e-bay for 109 ea plus free shipping. Great price and now great sound. Now its time to sit back and enjoy the music and have a few beers.

MTX speakers are what we use in commercial jukebox locations. They sound great without breaking the bank price-wise.
