Just picked up my first cd juke.
AMI ROWE CD100 EAGLE LASERSTAR. 1995
No idea what model # it is or if it has any of the upgrades I've been reading about. Got it 'as-is' not working from the auction.

Tinkered with it for a bit and got it going, kind of.
Bill changer is working, takes credits, loads and spins a cd, seems to be playing but, no sound...
Because there are no speakers, it's a wallbox unit.

I'd like to hook something up just to see if the amp is actually working.
We have some 4 Ohm 200W car speakers sitting here that need the dust blown out of them. Can I use these without damaging anything if I keep the volume low?

Better yet...
Can anyone tell me the ratings for the various taps on the strip?

Here is the manual set:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Rowe-CD-100-Las...tem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item33581a3269

With all CD Rowe jukeboxes, the terminal strip connections for external 4 ohm speakers are:

E1: common

E2: one watt

E3: four watts

E4: 16 watts

E5: 28 watts

E6: 64 watts

E7: 113 watts

Connect one side of the speaker to E1 (common) and the other side of the speaker to the desired wattage you want going to the speaker. These instructions apply to both channels.

As an example let's say you have two speakers and want to test this amplifier. One speaker should connect to left channel E1 and E3. The other speaker will connect to the right channel E1 and E3. This will give 4 watts to each speaker.

Remember, you will also need to connect the jukebox's built-in volume control or you won't get any sound.

Thanks Ken.
So it's similar to the setup in the R-84/5 we've got sitting here.
Looks like the internal volume control is not hooked up, both wires are going to the same lug, next to a jumper. Does this work like the older machines too?

Didn't want to just make that assumption and let the smoke out of something. Definatly will invest in a manual as it seems like the machine may actually work. Thanks for the link, not a bad price either.

Awesome, without the terminals being labeled, (see photo above) I took a gamble and wired the volume control up to the common (black wire) and the jumpered pair. We now have sound, many thanks Ken!

I think this machine may have been 'setup for storage' by an operator who was trying to protect the amp from accidental damage.

Now if I can get the blinky lights working and repair the front door (lower bracket's mounting legs are broken off) it'll be in pretty good shape. I see some of the bulb sockets are missing and it looks like they are wired in series. Could this keep the whole assembly from lighting?

Yes the black volume control wire goes to the black wire on the terminal strip.

The red volume control wire goes to the jumpered section.

The orange wire at the far right of the terminal strip is the cancel wire for the remote volume control assembly.
