The display on my juke is very dim when I start it up and within a few minutes goes completely black. The juke keeps playing fine and everything else seems okay. This happened a few months ago and it came out of it after being turned off for a few days but not this time. I've got my daughters sweet 16 party this Saturday and really need it working for it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hello,

Rowe Ami are prone to dry joints (called cold joints in the USA) this is cracking around the soldered joint to the connection pins on most if not all of the boards.

I would remove the display board and check the connections and soldering, only try to resolder if you can solder correctly, if not send in the board to a Rowe Ami specalist such as Bruce Wentworth (in the USA) of AB Leisure or myself in the UK.

Another issue with connections is that the molex loom connections can loose some of the pressure against the pins on the boards. Each molex connection is a fold over type connection, these can be removed and opened out slightly to put more pressure on the connection, if you were to do this only do it one connection at a time.

amiman,

Thanks for the information. I will take a look at the joints tonight when I get home. If anyone has any pictures of the particular pins and joints that I should be looking at that would be great. Or if they are somewhere in the manual(s), can you refer to a page? If not then I'm sure I will figure it out.

BTW, I had a 24hr layover in London on my way back from Baku on a recent military trip. I must say that the people were great and the city was beautiful. It didn't hurt that the weather was 75F either. Had a few Guinness at an Irish pub and saw all the major attractions. I want to go back for a longer visit now.

Hello,

I do not have the CD-100C manuals, but there should be two manuals, I have the full 100A, 100B, 100, 100F etc.
Part 1 covers Installation , Programming, Routine Service.
Part 2 covers OBA-2 Maintenance, Troubleshooting, Adjustments and the Parts Catalog.
You will need part two
The Display assemble part number is 40832303 there is a number of Ebay dealers who are selling these now.

Alan,

Thanks for taking the time to look those up for me. I will look them over and probably go ahead and order one. I will check my old one over when I take it out and see if I want to solder it myself or send it out and have someone do it for me. That way I will have a spare on hand.

Thanks again
