It is likely that the left-side rack has moved to end-of-travel in one direction and then became un-meshed from the motor gear. It is also possible that the rack gear teeth are simply not meshing with the motor gear.

Take out the entire catalog assembly. Just unplug the 2x3 molex connector first. On the back at the top of this assembly, there is a motor that flips the pages. To get at it, you might have to remove the hand wheel. Remove one screw at the center of the hand wheel and pull it off.

Behind it there is a metal bracket that surrounds the motor gear and the two racks (a rack is a black 12" long piece of plastic that has gear teeth along one side). The metal bracket is held on by 2 screws. The bracket is supposed to keep the motor gear meshed with the racks. One rack rides on top of the round gear. The other rack rides on the bottom of the gear. If the bracket has gotten loose or something like that, you'll have to align the racks and pages such that the racks are all the way in (that means the pages are all flipped away from center except the last set which never flips, the album numbers showing are the lowest ones). Remove the bracket and you can pull the racks inward. The racks have an angled section that will meet a metal post when they are all the way inward. Make sure they are meshing with the motor gear and replace the bracket to hold it all together.

Also, be aware that there are two snap-action switches mounted above the uppermost rack near the motor. They each have a little arm with a little wheel on the end. The wheels ride on the rack. The switch that follows the straight edge on the rack limits travel in both directions. The switch that follows the wavy edge on the rack is responsible for stopping the motor after each page flips. The procedure for setting/calibrating these switches in is the service manual and is accompanied by a detailed drawing. Since one side of your catalog is working in both directions and the drive motor is stopping where it should, it is likely that the switches are okay. It is possible however that some small adjustment is neccessary.

If the motor gear teeth or the rack teeth are worn out, you'll have to order new ones from Suzo-Happ or any other reputable juke parts supplier. These are not expensive parts.

I hope this helps.

Hello,

Yes it could be the motor or the gearing. But it can also be a setting in the programming that is causing the error.

You need to check that the settings in Attract mode are correct with regards to the Page In and Page Out settings.
