Hello all got some questions hopefully you all would help answer. I have a Rowe 100C jukebox that you all helped me buy last year and now I want to add a Rowe wallette CD WB to it, but have a few questions.

There is a company that sells them on Ebay. They state that all I need to connect it to my jukebox is a 8 lead wire, true?

Aren't these complete and self contained? Someone said I would need a transformer to get them to work? True? If so is that to power the unit itself?

Since the wall unit only has 50 selections and the jukeox has 100 what happens to the slection options? How does it work?

Any other advise? Thanks

No info available? I was hoping to sort this out before buying. I would greatly appreciate any help anyone can offer!!!

Thanks Ike

Sorry, we never operated any wallboxes with our Rowe cd jukes we had on our route. We operated over 100 cd jukes on the route back in the day. By having over 100 machines, we got a price break on the copyright licenses.

I think there were about 3 different models of the CD Wall boxes though, so there might be wiring differences between models.

Suggest posting on the www.phonoland.com forums and at this mailing list:

Ken thank for the links, greatly apreciate them.

Surprised. no wllboxes, no diners on that route??? Ike

Oh yes we had a couple of diners and they wanted wallboxes for the cd jukebox. However, my boss said no way was he going to pay $1,500 a piece for a wallbox! That's what they cost to buy brand new from a Rowe distrib.

Ken, I knew they were expensive, but that does seem disproportionate with regards to the cost of a jukebox. I guess it is a question of being able to make money and Rowe simple wanted a piece of the pie.

Thanks again!!!Ike

Rowe CD WB Installation

You need a 7-wire connection to this wallbox.

Wallbox terminal strip positions:

A.C. Power
Power Com
L CH
R CH
Audio Com
Rowelink A (ORN)
Rowelink A (ORN)
Rowelink B (WHT)
Rowelink B (WHT)

2 wires (18 AWG) for the wallbox AC power of 28-volts. You can use a Radio Shack
transformer for this, Part # 273-1512 or 273-1512B. Use an in-line fuse for safety.

3 wires (22 AWG) from the CD100 speaker output terminals to the wallbox speakers.
Use the E1 tap for Audio Com and the Left/Right E3 taps to the L CH and R CH.

2 wires (22 AWG) for the Rowelink communication. On the CD100, Rowelink connectors
are P10, P11 or P12. At the wallbox, 1 wire to a Rowelink A (ORN) terminal and other to
a Rowelink B (WHT) terminal.

The first wallbox ID is 70, all four dipswitches on the wallbox control board are down.

Datasync, absolutely exactly what I was looking for. Perfect info to make the connection easy.
Getting the wall box this weekend but the house is under construction so I will not be able to connect it for a few months.

Thanks for the transformer lead, the person selling me the waalbox wanted alot of $$ for one, so I figured I would find one on my own for less, but was not sure where. Also my brother may have one from a old jukebox setup.

Just to clarify when you state :

A.C. Power
Power Com
L CH
R CH
Audio Com
Rowelink A (ORN)
Rowelink A (ORN)
Rowelink B (WHT)
Rowelink B (WHT)

Are ther twoRowelinkA & B, or is this a double stike?

And when you state:

"The first wallbox ID is 70, all four dipswitches on the wallbox control board are down.", where /when do you enter the wallbox's ID?

Thanka again Ike

Rowe CD WB Installation

Ike,

No, not a double strike

The 2 sets are for daisy-chaining to additional wallboxes as shown below:

Rowelink A (ORN) <- From CD100 jukebox or previous wallbox
Rowelink A (ORN) <- to next wallbox
Rowelink B (WHT) <- From CD100 jukebox or previous wallbox
Rowelink B (WHT) <- to next wallbox

Inside the wallbox door, is the control board. It has a 4 position set of ID switches. All must be switched down.

You can have up to 14 wallboxes with each having a different ID switch setting.

Got it thanks for the clarification. Again greatly appreciate you sharing your expertise!!! Happy Thanksgiving to you and all.

You do not need to respond to both forums, although it is good info for anyone setting up a wallbox to have. Feel free to pick one. Ike
