I'm having problems with a 100F an I am wondering if I could get pointed in the right direction.

Basically, when the cd drops into the player, it will spin a few times, and get picked up and put back in the carriage. It will try again and it does the same thing.

So far I have swapped the decoder, player, and computer with working ones from other boxes. They all work in the other boxes fine. The ones fromt he otehr boxes give the same result in the 100F.

I am guessing it is most likely a simple connection problem? When I purchased the box it worked fine but sat waiting for the title rack to be fixed, which I am working on as well. Now the sucker won't play!

On a similar note, I put new title cards in because 6 were originally missing. Is there a good way to align the bottom mech that moves the racks? The problem I am having is that the last and first title rack will 'hang' as in wants to move.

For example, on the bottom pages 00-11, if you try to go down, it will attempt to go down, but it will not move because it is at the end of the rack. It will try for a few seconds and give up. Messing with it I have aligned it to where it works properly up top; you can hit up and it won't do anything, and you can go down immediately.

On the bottom of the unit, there is a black piece that rotates and hits a switch. I am guessing that works like an end of stroke switch?

I am having the same problem with a unit from a 100G where someone had tried to align it with no luck. Is this just a horribly designed system? I hate to say it but the rack system in the 100-100Es are a lot better.

Any help would be appreciated!

Sounds like you have connector problems or wiring harness problems.

How is the power supply? Are all the LED's lit? Any cold solder joints on the power supply circuit board?

The "F" and "G" model jukeboxes use title pages that fight gravity and are a real pain in the ass to service. I had one "F" model on location that was giving me title page sync/alignment problems. I couldn't fix it and ended up sending it to the Rowe distributor for repair.

Make sure the clamp arm is correctly positioned for both height and centering. And ditto for what Ken said about the title rack. Don't even attempt to adjust it yourself, it takes a trained expert to work on those mfers.

Thanks for the replies.

All of the LEDs are on the power supply. All of the LEDs are also on the decoder as well. I have not checked the power supply circuit board, but if there were any cold solder joints on it, wouldn't I be missing a voltage somewhere?

Also regarding the title rack on the F, is the edge of the top card (last page with 97, 98, 99) cut a little shorter? The replacement slightly catches the top of the metal bracket that holds onto the glass. It will not go down with the door shut. The original is long gone and I don't have it to look at for reference.

Somehow I got the rack to work correctly with no alignment issues. I am not having as good of luck with the rack on the 100G. On the F, it looks like at the very top and bottom, the tip of the black piece rests against the switch, but I cannot get it to do the same with the G. I can align it to where it rests on the top end but not the bottom.

Can anyone else look and confirm this?

One of the main problems of the rack it was originally having was that on each end, the bar on the bottom would rotate even at the ends, forcing it out of alignment. I replaced the teeth on the rack that the gear rolls on, and that fixed that issue up. That might help someone in the future who wants to try to fix this unit themselves instead of sending it off.

Thanks for your time

I have had the same page hitting problem with the F's. Over time, the door will sag due to gravity. Rowe made a door service kit with stronger brackets near the gas struts. However, this doesn't fix the sag issue. Check the black wooden board at the very top of the machine. You will see it has sagged down where the door hinge bolts to it. I remove the door, make angle iron brackets to reinforce the top board and then reinstall the door. The door should not drag on the bottom catch latches. Once this mod is make, the title pages do not hit the glass.

One other option is to move the brackets that hold the title page assembly down about an 1/8".

hi bradon, gino from houston. what you have is a player promblem not a connector or other part. depending on player your useing. theirs ways to fix. the grease on the roller bars that the player eye rides on get hard. and assembly doesnt move right causing your promblem. also the lense may be dirty. use a q-tip and lense cleaner. and be gentle and dont over soak q-tip.their also a kit for a up date player that cheaper than the pro players that work better and last longer.the title page is easy if you know what to do on all verticle title pages, to much info to type up on how to. you can e-mail [email protected] or call and i can get u going . i love the rowe juke box ,easy to work on and when adjusted right they rock.

when the cd goes down and back up and doesnt play its a player promblem. on your power supply if you dont have all three led lights on then you have a power promblem. they do make a update player if use a pro player, thats up dated from the sling shot player. it works really well and doesnt act up like the pro players. the verticle title page has a big section in manual. sometime when they hang up , check your slots on left and right and see if page nipples are in a bind , very common promblem. just file grove slot a little so nipple clears when moving up and down. that will fix your promblem. and check ur pages for broken cracks by nipples on title page. this happens when it hits grove when moving up and down. the pages pop in and out. you dont have to take apart to change title pages
