a good friend of mine has a nice rowe cd-100c

unfortunately his dollar acceptor is worn out so he has to keep stuffing it with quarters to make it play..

I could rebuild or replace the dollar bill acceptor but i figure if there is a freeplay option for this model, the free "fix" is always a better option :D

SO lmk fellas, i appreciate your input!

Enter password and enter service mode.

Type 55.

Press & hold "reset" & 9 at once.

Press "popular" to complete and lock in.

Now exit service mode.

Machine will now be on free play.

Battery on CCC board is probably dead if never been changed. once box is unplugged from wall it will loose its freeplay just for future reference.

i have tons and tons of the bill acceptors for those. the belts on it probably just need to be replaced. if you want one let me know.

I don't like using freeplay...

It doesn't work with Album entries.

I prefer to go into the menu and add 9999 credits (and make sure that it is set to save credits).

I entered 9999 credits last June. I have used maybe 4 thousand.

Of course, I don't make very many selections that use credits. I set the autoplay to zero seconds and it automatically cycles through and plays a few songs off every cd.

If I make a selection, that plays next.

I am sure that Ken knows all the usual codes by heart. Hell, I always forget them. So what I did was make a title card with all the usual commands on it. Then I put it in ne of the empty spaces at the end of the title rack.

I have another title card for all the Bonus Songs I put on various CD's while burning them. Mostly one hit wonder stuff. If I have an Album that uses 50 minutes, I burn extra tracks from the same artist. If I have even more space, I burn unrelated tracks that I don't put on the corresponding title card.

put her in test, pressed 55, held the top left button and then tapped 9 to switch freeplay on, pressed popular and locked it in.. powered down, powered up, still on freeplay!

so hes happy, but hed like to fix it too..

dude, pm me with what youd want for a working bill acceptor..
he also needs the motor that runs the moving cd display(hums, gets hot, doesent move display cds) so if you got one(or mabye the whole assy????) LMK

The CD display animation motor is available to purchase at any Rowe distributor. It's a high failure motor. Happ Controls has it too.

You're not gonna like the price of it though.
