Having an issue with the tonearm after the record finishes playing. It's not returning it just continues to run along the back of the record. Any idea on how to adjust this?

I haven't come across anything via searches yet.

Thanks

Hi Chris,

Have you checked the record cut off reed switch?
The way the check is see if the reject on the back of the jukebox or the one on the mechanism rejects the record. If the reject buttons work more than likely the reed switch will have broken.

If you are in the USA try Bruce Wentworth for a replacement (he may only sell the complete cutoff board complete with switch). Alternatively try www.happ.com or any Rowe Ami dealer.

Yes both reject buttons work. After the record has played I can even manually (gently lift) the tone arm and move it a tad forward (towards the center of the record) and the return function kicks in automatically. It's behaving like it just hasn't finished playing the record and doesn't return the arm.

I've tried repositioning the tone arm mech and now it will finish the record and return the arm automatically...but...when I now select a song the needle/arm is not sitting down at the beginning of the record. It seems to land at about an inch to far into the 45.

Any thoughts on how to tweak this?

Hi Chris,

What ever you did with the arm adjustment, try and put it back to how it was set.
The issue you have is that the cut off board needs adjusting. You will see that it has a 4BA (1/4 AF) machine screw on it that holds the board in place, just slacken and the board will move on the slot that the screw goes through. When you move the board it places the reed switch on the board nearer or further from the centre of the turntable.

Use this adjustment and test on a number of records so that you do not get it to reject before the end of the record.

Alan
