Hello
So I picked up the cmm4 jukebox for free. Off to a good start. No volume or volume controller but everything was moving inside. Cool. New volume controller and a tube later and I have sound. Neat. My first jukebox and it's kinda working.

Problem is the treble is rather low on this thing. I tapped into the amp with a audio source and it sounds fine. I'm thinking preamp issues. I'm finding little out there on this preamp.

Here is what it is.

Front side says it is a "Rowe preamp r-3800a"
Backside says it is a "Rowe r-3805"

I can not even find a diagram on it. I'm more of a arcade repair guy and a bit unknowable on this but would like it to sound right.

Any input would be great.

Hi,

Looking at the pre-amp board, this is a split channel pre-amp and does need to be wired up with a dual volume control that has to be wired with a screened cable.

There has been three additional capacitors fitted at locations:-

R9 to R5 left & right
R15 right and the link near it.

My guess that these will not make much difference but I wonder why they did not fit another capacitor on R15 left. The R15 resistors are in part of the treble switch circuit.

Regards
Alan
