Has anyone tried this board with a Hyperball.Im asking this because there is at least one connector that plugs on to the system 7 hyperball driver board that is not on the Rotten dog Board. Here are pics. Was wondering if it didnt need to be plugged in,But you would think it does.

I can't imagine a cable in the machine not being plugged in. The other way around I could see (connector on the board with nothing to it).

The problem with Hyperball is that many people think it used typical System 7 hardware, and it does not. It is modified System 7 hardware, and I think you have unfortunately come across one of the differences.

Where was that plug originally? I don't have a plug like that on my original Black Knight or Rottendog board, which is also a System 7 machine:

Unfortunately, I don't have any good board photos from when I had my Hyperball.

There is a photos on K's Arcade website though. By comparison, the Hyperball driver board has that large plug on the bottom right side of the board:

You may want to write to Rottendog about this, as I don't think his board can accomidate the needs for Hyperball from what I see.

Hope you can get it worked out. Hyperball is a really fun machine when working.

I honestly doubt it's going to work with Hyperball. Hyperball used an entirely different driver board and had an additional PIA mounted for the alphanumeric display. That's probably the extra cable you're dealing with.

Yes I figured it had to do with the display in the playfield.Funny that you can pic the hyperball roms on the rottendog board but it isn't set up for the hyperball wiring.

That is wierd he included the software for hyperball, as there's really no way that board can run the machine.

God only knows if anybody is ever going to run a repro driver board for it either. I can tell you that I have zero interest in pursuing it at all, there's just too little of a market for it.
