Hey, I just bought a cabinet from Teckkev.

I have one question - How do I rotate the picture upside down?

The monitor is a wells Gardner 19K4906 - he referred to it as a 4900.

If you have any advice, lemme know!

This should be in the monitor section.

You have two options. First it is possible that the board you are using has a dip switch that will rotate the monitor. THe next option is the flip the yoke connection on the monitor chassis. Is the monitor horizontally or vertically mounted?

PCB is Blitz'99
He wants to use it for other Jamma games (all are upside down image right now).
He is needing help on what 2 wires to flip (i'm a dumbass on monitors to assist).

There should be four wires coming off the yoke and connecting to the chassis. They are red, blue, green, and yellow. If the housing they connect to the board with is one solid piece it need to be cut apart keepping the red/blue together and the green/yellow together. Once you have them seperated just swap the green/yellow by rotating the connector 180 degrees and plug it back in.

Is there a pic of the 2 switched? I hate to see him switch the wrong ones (like i did before).

Kevin

As long as you keep the connector intact and don't remove the wires from the connector you shouldn't be able to cross the vertical and horizontal windings because they are spaced differently. That is the main reason I never suggest pulling the wires from the connector.

Hey guys, thanks for the advice and help!

I'll look at Deadly's link, and some of the posts, and see if I can't get this figured out tonight. Thanks!

Okay, I got that taken care of! Thanks for all of the help!

However, I have encountered another issue - the right side of the screen looks to be "cut off." I adjusted the horizontal position all the way to the left, but it seems like it's trying to jam the rightmost 20 or so columns of pixels into a single column. Is there an adjustment that I should make to fix this?

I can provide pictures of what's happening - I'll just need to upload them to photobucket.

By the way, sorry this is not in the appropriate forums. While I've been on here for the better part of a year, I've not posted aside from in general discussion and the market forums. I also posted this in a rush - I'll try to get more familiar with where threads should go for the future.

Also FYI - most JAMMA games have dip switch options for flipping the image, so you could have just flipped the switch on all those "upside-down JAMMA games" instead of swapping the yoke...

Adjust the horizontal width via the horizontal width coil. Also, I do believe that BLITZ has an adjustment within software for width... but I am not 100% on that one because it may be a MAME adjustment I am thinking of (I play Blitz on my MAME cab).

This is gonna sound dumb, but having looked at the controls for the monitor, I can see that the Horizontal Width coil is represented on there, but I'm not seeing where it is... Any chance you can provide me with a picture of what it looks like?

You are going to need a PLASTIC width adjustment tool... they can be had from Radio Shack for couple bucks... they usually come in a set of tools often times called TV ALIGNMENT TOOLS...

This is a set Bob sells...

You CAN use an Allen Wrench however i recommend against it for a couple reasons.

(A) it's metal and and you have the chance of hitting something that will cause a short or cause you to get shocked.

(B) it's metal and instantly heats up as you attempt to adjust the coil... and it can get hot.... real hot.

(C) See (A) & (B)

When adjusting the coil... be as delicate as you can... that coil is OLD and can crack under pressure...if it's stuck (as many old ones are)...gently work it clockwise/counterclockwise... it should eventually "break free".
