Rotating monitors, Can you do it?

Have any every rotated a monitor inside a cabinet? Is it easy, What's the proper way to do it. I'm trying to buy a cheap $0-$50 vertical jamma cab to trade for a cabinet. So far all I can find is a Horizonal jamma T&F cab. Any help's appreciated. Thanks in advance.

shouldnt be a problem..... I have my track n field sitting right beside my gyruss with a vert monitor and the height of the two cabs is almost identical...

Many vertical games use horizontal mount monitors, so it's as easy as sliding it in sideways. Other games have true vertical mount monitors which uss a different frame, but sometimes horizontal mounts will still work.

I don't recall on Track-N-Field, so hopefully someone else will speak-up.

There was a guy here who made a really cool MAME cab that rotated the monitor cage automatically via electric motor depending on what game was selected. There was a video posted but I forget who it was.

track and field is a horizontal game, are you turning it into something else?

If you have a dedicated track an field, its a shelf mounted monitor. You would need a different frame and Still don't think it would fit right.

The newer games (dynamo cabs and 3 koam cabs) are made to be rotated. Your picking on the one of the few cabs that can't. If its not the dedicated cab then maybe.. take some pics

The problem is I can't take any measurements.. I don't own it, nor is it a T&F any longer. I'm trying to buy a cheap $0-$50 vertical jamma cab to trade for a jammatized Food Fight cab. So far my luck has been as about as good as a Zoo worker getting a monkey to not throw poop.. If you (anyone for that matter near Tucson) got something better than that I'd be more than happy to take it off your hands. :)

Pay the guy some extra money so he can buy his own crappy conversion. Don't go and convert a perfectly good game.

It's generally pretty easy to rotate monitors - you just have to get creative with the mountings. Sometimes you need some angle iron, other times you can get away with wood, etc. It's not that hard. That said, if you can't measure, then you aren't going to have any good time working with wood or cabinets.

The T&F is already converted. The reason he wants another game in trade for the FF cab is so he can still play his vertical jamma games.

The guy's not a collector so he's not going to go out and buy anymore games.. so It's my job to some how find a game to trade with. I don't know about you but there is almost no games for sale out here in Tucson. :(
