The image on my Mortal Kombat I just got is rotated clockwise a degree or so, how do I adjust it back straight?

Also after the cab has been on about 10 minutes the picture becomes overbright and whites and reads start streaking. I can turn the pots to readjust the picture, but what is the cause of this?

Post a picture if you can but this sounds like a loose yoke.

Bad flyback.

That's a K7000.....

Generally a monitor shouldn't be adjusted until after about 10 minutes warmup time anyways.
So let it warm up, then adjust the brightness and contrast as needed.

If it's that noticeable you may have to loosen the yoke and turn it just a hair to correct the rotation. Usually does not take much movement at all. And try not to knock the rubber wedges loose or slide it back any.

And double check it's not the bezel or something that's cockeyed before doinking around with the yoke.

Yah, I figured it might just be the bezel making it look that way. The convergence discs still have the hot glue on them holding them in place.

Do loosen the yoke with the clamp right next to the convergence rings?

That's the one but you should check to see if it's a little loose before messing with the clamp. If you can rotate it without loosening it, do that then tighten it.

And DO NOT touch those rings, just the YOKE. ;)

Thanks, I have adjusted the convergence on a monitor before, about as irritating as respoking a motorcycle wheel! It is in good enough convergence. The monitor in my MVS would be adjusted before I did it on this one, the red is off a bit.

This is an old thread, but I thought I'd add that my MK cabinet had exactly the same rotation in the same direction.

Procedure: Loosened the yoke clamp 1 turn, rotated about 5 deg CW (viewed from the rear) ~1deg at a time, tightened 1 turn. Problem solved. If it's of any importance, I did it with the unit on so I could see the changes as I adjusted it.

Thanks!!! I am not sure if that is the problem with mine, I need to check.

Judging from the photo, yes. If you can't see the tube edges, remove the glass and bezel and judge the image relative to the black screen mask in/on the tube. If the image looks skewed/rotated in this "frame", your yoke needs to be rotated. Takes about 5 min and a philip's screwdriver.
