I don't know how else to describe it. It looks like the picture is twisted 10 deg or so clockwise (the image is closer to the right at the top, and closer to the left at the bottom). I did a tube swap on this when I first got it. Could convergence ring alignment cause this?

Nope - well you MIGHT have a convergence issue - but the problem is that your yoke isn't straight. It's rotated a little off center and is causing the image to be rotated a little as a result. Just loosen the yoke, rotate it back until the image is straight, then retighten. You can do this with power on as long as you keep your hands away from the anode cup and the chassis. Since you did a tube swap, the yoke should already be broken free once the screw is loosened....

God damn it, I was worried it was something stupid like that. I delivered it to a guys house yesterday on the complete opposite side of town from me, and when I got there he pointed it out (I honestly hadn't noticed it, but looked and some older pics and it had always been like that). Needless to say, the guy didn't buy it. I've never wanted to deck someone so bad in my life. He was being a real prick about it too. Sorry for the mini rant

Thanks for the fix.

Side question, 1/2 way through trying to repair this in the guys driveway it started this weird right to left scanning pattern. Any thoughts?

Here's a vid of what I'm talking about (ignore the background noise, I had my car running in the garage to charge the battery)

Is this the original game or a multi?

Reseat you connector, chips, and daughtercard. Was the monitor rebuilt? Reseat the video connector and check the connector from the neckboard to the chassis.

As for the yoke, it's a simple adjustment that can be done in about 10-15 seconds if you have an extra pair of eyes...

my thought is that line that scans across the picture isn't the monitors fault.....do you have another video signal you can hook up to the chassis? I've never seen that before, and I've seen a lot of ms pac games.

I don't have an easy way to hook up another signal.

The monitor was tube swapped, but not rebuilt. I did adjust the yoke and that fixed the rotated image problem. Thanks! I'll check those when I get home.
