Hello to all,

for my emergency / security, i would want to copy and to store the ROM of my cards PCB.

you help me?

which machine to buy?

where to buy it?

where to buy the empty ROM?

exists in Internet a data bank where to unload the ROM originates them, example for SPY HUNTER or DK?

Thanks and good festivities!

Fortunately, for arcade machines, all that is already done for you, thanks to the MAME project. Just download the MAME ROM for your game, and unzip the file. Inside will be a file for each of the EPROMs on the board.

If you have some unusual non-arcade game hardware and you want to back up the ROMs, you just need an EPROM programmer. You can then read in the data and save it to whatever. As for blank ROM chips, these are also easy to get. EPROMs are erasable under ultraviolet light, so you can buy used chips and erase them.

ROM failures are pretty rare, but it does happen on occasion. Hobbyroms.com can supply programmed, replacement chips for you if you need a ROM for an arcade machine.
