Recently picked up a Rolling Thunder with naked sides. Anyone have source recommendations for side art? Or opinions on the following sources?

Available sources I've found: Escape Pod (to be avoided I've heard), Theresasstuff (ebay), and GameOnGrafix.

None of my usual places carry this art, so I'm open to suggestions!

Thanks!

Josh, there is always the option of Arcadeartshop

https://www.arcadeartshop.com/product/rolling-thunder-side-art-pair/

But it is also the most expensive option and ships from the UK. I have had a great experience and Ollie is responsive and quality controls the art before it ships. His shop was the only place to get the correct outrun sideart (not mirrored) when I was restoring mine. I also got the proper sheen outrun map decal from him (everyone else had the rough laminate version). I was extremely happy with the prints (and I need to start a resto thread..).

I'd get in touch with him for more info on the particular art, close up pics, source of the original scanned print (NOS?) etc.

Good luck!

Thanks Paris.

I did see Arcadeartshop too, but I left it out because it was overseas. I know shipping oversize (more than 12" in any direction) things in the USA is pretty expensive, I couldn't imagine how much overseas oversize would be.

I'll weigh it in.

Obviously, this isn't a SUPER desirable game so I shouldn't be so particular, but I'd still like to get the best value, and also not get total garbage either.

Yeah, it will be about $100 shipped to you from the UK, the others will probably be about $75 shipped or so.

But, you only want to do this once, even for a not so desirable title. I'd get in touch with Ollie, he is a good and honest guy. You've got nothing to lose.

Escape Pod's looks great. They have actual pictures of it.
Not sure what you're worried about. I would never buy cheap crap art on Ebay with no photos to back up what they are selling you.

Well I must admit that art is pretty nice looking in the photos. I'm with you on that point. I suppose it is entirely possible that Escape Pod has stepped up their game. I can not personally vouch for I have never purchased any E P items, which is why I started this thread! :top:

avoid theresasstuff at all costs, there's a warning thread on klov about it too:

Escape Pod sucks. Every single thing my arcade friends have ordered have had inaccuracies. Some very blatant. And I've see it with my own eyes.

My recommendation is Joe Szabo at SzabosArcades.com. He doesn't list it on the site, but he does have it. It's about $70 for both sides. It was scanned and touched up from an original, so it's dead on accurate. Just email him. You won't be disappointed.
