What do you guys think? I think it's totally fugly and uninspired.. and if this is supposed to draw players in, it might be best to place it in a retirement home (LOL)

I'm holding out for the "Steel Wheelchair" limited edition :D

This is a bad idea. I hope it works out for them if only to keep them in business so they can put out Tron.

Well I think stern jumped the shark with that stunt they pulled with the Avatar limited edition. The screwed over every customer that pre ordered and would have gladly payed extra for a limited edition had it been announced there was going to be a limited edition game during the pre orders.

Yes, this side art is totally lame! I sure hope The game play is more inspired. I'ts going to be hard to sell pre orders of this game to the same customers that they just screwed over recently.

Dear lord, but what can we expect? Stern artwork has been grainy cheap ass quality for quite a while. And I'm not sure what work for the Stones Stern could use that would kick ass? While I might seem like a hater here, I just honestly think it's a terrible theme let alone a terrible band to use. I've said it countless times only time will tell the tale. Good luck Stern, me thinks you're going to need it on this one.

Terrible, uninspired photo lineup and bad font. Should have some artistic rendering to it - needed to be classic, classy, and iconic. This looks "home made." ...too bad.....I think they did a classy job w/ the Elvis cabinet.

Pics of the premium edition are also starting to leak, they have added a geritol bottle that pops up in the middle of the playfield like the Iron Monger does in IM:

I gotta say - I don't quite get the thing about people making fun of the Stones cuz they're old....I would guess that ALL of us listen to SOME classic rock. AC/DC's old. Rush is old. The Beatles are old. The Who is old...etc, etc. Seems like people only make fun of the Stones for being old....I don't get it.

I suppose I am making fun of them though the age thing is just the easiest target, kind of a cheap shot I suppose. For me at least, they haven't been relevant music-wise for many years and it seems like they are just riding what little amount of momentum they had from their hey-day to stay in the spotlight. I think there are other recognizable bands that have been around for ages that would be a better fit.

yeah, that list could be very long

My guess is that it's the younger guys in their 20's that are so hung up on the Stones being "old". By the time they started getting into music, the Stones were already on the oldies channel.

I think they're still relevant....tons of movies and TV shows still use Stones music in the soundtrack (new episode of Californication last Sunday, for example), and I still hear them on the radio all the time, or on the radio in stores. I think we take for granted that we still hear Stones music all the time. Lets put it this way - there isn't a person that doesn't know some Stones music.

...that being said, I have no idea if there's a market for a Stones pin....and this artwork doesn't help make it feel like a "classic rock collectible."

The Stones, the Beatles, and The Who among others were "old" when I first was introduced to them in the early to mid 80s. Yes, to a teenager, anyone over 20 and especially bands that formed in 60s were old. But I still really liked their music and enjoyed discovering it. So the age argument really doesn't hold water in my opinion. Their music stands on its own, it is good and always will be. Doesn't matter what your age is, The Stones rock.

But that doesn't excuse that artwork. This is a perfect case where understated is better. A simple, classic looking design such as the tongue and lip logo on a black cabinet would be perfect. But no, we get this abomination. Wow.

Looks like that was made from a low res image pulled off a fan site online.

I make fun of the Stones for being old because I don't like them, never did, and they're still together charging $75 for cheap seats if they tour.

Just like I complain about my favorite band Def Leppard when they put out crappy cover albums when Joe Elliott can't hit the high note anymore.

At least bands like AC/DC and The Beatles are still popular enough with their OLD stuff that they can drive sales (an AC/DC pinball would probably be pretty bad ass).

The main thing to remember is that their target audience are either:

a) geeks with money who buy anything related to their geek interests (like TRON, D&D, etc)
b) old people with money who grew up on pinball

So yeah, the Stones are old, but so are some of their target audience.

Hell, we have a lady who has us tracking down an Elvis pinball for her because she loves Elvis....

so far i like what ive seen with the new pin

do THE ROLLING STONES play the exact same notes in the exact same place exactly every single time ? yes !

never really cared for them and i hate MICK JAGGER even though we used to hang out in front of his house on central park west drinking beer

i dont think of them as a band that JAMS with new music at every show. not like THE GRATEFUL DEAD did anyway.
but
they've come up with some great tunes and arent each of them worth a billion yet ?

cant wait to see the playfield and i wonder what new electronics there might be

They still play Buddy Holly tunes on the radio... they still play Bill Haley and the Comets on the radio... hell, I walked in to Walmart last week and they were playing fuckin' SPLISH SPLASH over the speakers... does that mean that a Bobby Darin pin would be relevant?

HELL NO!

Terrible theme... terrible idea... terrible artwork... yet another "flushing" sound I hear coming from the dumbasses at Stern.
