OK so there is a local girls roller derby league (WWF on skates) and they are having a 80s night . They want me to bring 4-6 arcades to have on free play at the show. These shows bring in about 2-3 thousand people. My question to you klov is what games would you bring for that crowd to enjoy?

The roller derby crowd in the PNW is pretty much exclusively lesbian. I suggest Ms Pac, Galaga, Centipede, Dig Dug, and Pole Position.

Take whatever games you have that are highest on the list of most popular games on KLOV. If you have the top 4-6 games, take them. No one is going to play a game they don't remember.

Very cool one of my friends at work is a referee for a ladies roller derby team.

For games as some have stated popular ones! Easy ones to play are good too. I would guess?

pac man or Ms..... ;)
Galaga
Centipede
Frogger(easy as it gets, and popular)

Roller skating and games do NOT go together. Many times the skaters will bash in the coin doors with their skates.

You have to go and make sure you're there the whole time in case one breaks, or something. Really though just to watch. Take a camera.

True. I had roller rinks on my route when I worked for an OP, the games were destroyed. Ice skating rinks were even worse, because not only did they kick the games they CUT the games with the skates.

Is it the Rock City Roller Girls? lol I've heard them on the Radio a few times here in Seattle.

No they are local to Salem but I think they have had a match or two with the seattle team.

So far I have come up with Street fighter, ms pac, galaga, red tent and maybe a arkanoid cocktail.

Very true, very true. I think they want a mix of classic and jamma

There are quite a few roller derby tournaments at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds right by my house. My wife and I go fairly regularly, but I have never considered taking games to the tournaments.

If you can add some Jamma era games I suggest some drivers, especially if you can link them. Kids and adults both love gun games. They are very simple to play. The problem with Jamma era games is continues. If the games are set to freeplay a few people may hog the games through continues so make sure continue options are either off or the games play through pretty quickly.

As for Ken's concerns over the roller skates... The only people wearing skates are the competitors/referees and they are very proficient skaters. I would not worry about people damaging the machines with their skates.
