I found a pinball machine that needs a lot of work. It has an old European plug according to the seller that looks similar to a 3-prong dryer plug. He's only selling it for $100 and I was curious if I should even bother trying to get it. What do you all think?

teenage mutant ninja turtles, I've checked on shipping prices and estimate that it is 350 to 400 for shipping so I may just wait until I can find one locally that doesn't need as much work

The tough thing about that game is not a lot is available for it. If this is the one that is on ebay, it is missing all of the boards, the display, the backglass, and the spinning disk mechanism in the playfield. The spinning disk and the backglass are very hard to find for this machine and you could pay a lot for it, not to mention all new boards are going to cost you. For a first pin, this might be a tough project to dive into. You'll definitely end up putting in more money than it will be worth, at least right now, who knows a couple of years down the road. If its a title you have had your heart set on, for a $100, grab it, and sit and wait for the parts to show up, might be while, but whatever. The playfield looked decent on that one (if we are talking about the same one).

Thanks for th advice. It was the one on ebay. I'll probably wait to find another machine of the same title or perhaps another title altogether. I usd to love playing the Adams Family pinball machine as a child. Those are really the only two I can remember playing growing up because I was usually playing arcade games like Galaga, Lethal Enforcers or Mortal Kombat. I wouldn't mind surprising my parents with a pinball machine either, they love pinball.

That shouldn't be too hard to find a game for your folks. Lots of EMs out there,I'm sure you can find one cheap.
