I'm Planning on going next saturday. Anybody else going?

I'm going. I hope it's better than the last one. The last one was so bad I didn't even stay for the auctioning to start.

I'm on the fence...
the past couple have been so bad, I'm not sure whether to waste the 2 hrs to drive down there or not... anyone planning on going to the preview on Friday?

I will be there most likely unless someone posts preview pics and its a joke. I looked on the fairgrounds website and this is the last auction until April, so hopefully it is worthwhile.

I'll be their looking for something, I'm not sure what that something is but I'll know when I see it. I sure hope it's better than the last one and for godsakes let their be a few more pins to check out. Last time they only had like 5 or 6 of them.

I will be there and now I think I will be FORCED to get rid of some stuff (just picked up a DK JR). Space Invaders Deluxe anyone? How about a MegaTack project (mostly working)? Anyone interested in just a big old box of parts?

I think people have been holding onto their stuff for the last couple of years hoping that the market would improve. That has not happened making for some really crappy aucions. Now I think people may be desperate enough to let some good stuff go....

I'll be going. May be bringing a Super GT twin if I can get it up and running. May also have a Nascar or a Virtua Racing to sell.

The last Belleville auction was horrible. I drove 4 hours and it was not worth the drive. I ended up buying a beer sign from the brewmania event next door. So the trip wasn't a complete loss.

The guy who travels with them puts his pinballs on display was there making sure that nobody got a pinball for less than a premium price.. The vid selection was poor to say it nicely. I think the following example speaks for itself.

If a machine sells for 200 bucks, your paying 247.90 + tax, so about 265.

  • buyer pays bucks 30 bucks for the buyers premium ( don't forget tax I think it is 7% )
  • Seller pays $47.90 as final value fee (15.9% + 15.90 to consign the item)
So the auction company sees 77.90 on a 200 dollar game. So roughly 1/3 of cost associated with buying and selling go to them. I don't blame them for wanting to make money. Lets say they sell 200 games for an average of 100 bucks. They make 8000ish. They probably do a little better than that, but maybe not. I imagine by the time you haul, and pay overhead and for employees the bottom line is pretty tight. Have a bad auction or two and it could get scary.

I auctually hope they get lots of games and rake in the money. They are the one of the last auction services that brings in the games .
I have not seen so many machines on craigslist ever. So perhaps operators will be dumping them too. With the economy in the crapper. Prices might be good too.

I am on the fence about going for all the reasons above. Anyone selling anything in the parking lot?

What is the condition of the SID and how much?

Wishful thinking for me yet again. Things still havent improved much here. Maybe April.

OK Mongo, you got me curious, whats up with Megatack?

like usual, ill be there. Ive got room for around 35 games, which is about all that they had at the last auction. I would like to come home with just a new pin for the house, but you never know

Anybody know what time things fire up Saturday? I didn't see any details on super auctions web site.

I'd imagine the normal 8-10 ish preview time, then the auction would begin. I'd like to pick up a pinball if they have the ones I'm looking for. I don't really have the cash so I'd have to be pretty sold on it to put it on the credit card. To echo a previous post, anyone bringing anything to sell?
