Roll call for Mequite, TX auction 10/15

The Hot Rod needs a new disk...

Pat got it and both the Spectar (which worked great, had no back, but was still a sucky game) and the Bosconian (which had board issues)

It was a buyers' market there. Some of the machines went stupid cheap.

Well, it was a buyer's market except for one guy's stuff. He brought the horribly water damaged old, rarer stuff such as the spy hunter sit downs, the Mach IIIs (the worst of the water damaged stuff), the 3 monitor Speed Buggy, the sit down Buck Rogers, a F-14 Tomcat pinball, and more... He bumped the prices up too high through shilling and didn't want anything to sell except for top dollar.

He claimed that he could redo the Buck Rogers and sell it for over 4 grand... If that were the case then why the F*** didn't he just do that instead of putting in in a freakin' auction in the shitty shape it was in?

He had a bid of 300 on the F14 Tomcat and kept going up so people walked. "It's a revision 5 and the best revision of the game! It actually works where the others burn up and crap out!" - uh-huh... Maybe so, but this one looks like it was pissed on by a dozen rain clouds, the playfield was bad, plastics replaced by clear pieces that were warped badly.. and it goes on & on.

Insanity. The auctioneers were making catty comments about it too.

What did the Pirates of the Caribbean and the Playboy Pinballs go for?

Would have loved picking those up!

Thanks for that. I just like to keep track of where the cabarets are around this area incase im ever looking for a specific game. Glad its in the hands of one of us and not some random person. Makes it easier to keep track of them.

Thanks for the pics Alex.

Looking at the stuff there, I am just curious what the following went for:
- Sinistar cockpit
- Johhny Mnemonic pin (it is on my want list)
- Starship Troopers pin (I think that was what it was)
- Atari Football

If anybody knows, please post.

Thanks.

It is probably best I didn't go, or I'd have blown too much money and then have to rent another storage unit....:(

The Johnny Mnemonic pin went for $500, it was missing the translite and was dead but the playfield was decent.
The Starship Troopers went for $850, great deal on that one as it was working all the way.
Not sure on the other 2, I had already left by then.
I had to get out of there before I ended it buying more stuff :)
