Roll Call: 2011 MOMA auction 10/29/11 in Maple Grove, MN

OK, who's going?

Last year I was just a 'bit' wet behind the ears, to say the least ;)

I had never met Chris25810, Phetishboy, Alejandromad, and a ton of other Twin Cities KLOVers.

1 year later and at least I can put faces to names now.

Last year was an OK auction, with some good deals to be had. Phet's Pig Out was a good pull. There was also a nice Karate Champ dedicated that I should have grabbed, but wussed out. The Elvira Pin was a letdown with broken PF glass.

Wonder what they'll scrape up this year?

Yeah PigOut was a pretty sweet grab to say the least. I am going this year with no expectations nor anything in mind to pick up. That usually means I will come home with at least 3 items.

hmm if anyone from chicago wants to go and split gas I might be game

Probably $200 in gas, but worth it.

I'd be happy to put anyone up at my place Friday night before the auction. I'm on the way to Maple Grove for the Chicago trip.

Lots to buy the past 2 years, and good deals to be had for sure.

Here's a link to some pics from last year's auction, and a video:

hmmm might take you up on that, have to see if anyone is interested

I'm not opposed to having a few guys over the Friday night before the auction. In my game room, you should find:

Rolling Thunder (MAME)

  • Arkanoid II
  • Double Dragon
  • Ms Pac Man
  • Asteroids Deluxe
  • Marvel Super Heroes
  • Vs Hogan's Alley
  • Omega Race
  • Star Wars
  • R-Type II
  • Firepower
  • Pinbot
  • Flash Gordon

And maybe, just maybe, if I can get them working....

  • Space Invaders
  • KISS
I also have a kegerator in the game room that I've just been ITCHING for a reason to buy a pony keg of some really good beer for.

Hmmm... I would not have been happy if I drove to Chicago for an auction and what MOMA had was all I found.

There's more good stuff on CL in your area than there was at that auction.

To each his own I guess.

That said... I'll probably be going... because I have the sickness.

I have to agree. Last year we got unusually lucky with that large load coming from an old Wisconsin op's warehouse hoard - which was pulled from the most dilapidated, musty, crumbling buildings you can imagine. The machines were covered with bird shit, mold, rodent droppings and carcasses, but at least we did get some classics - which is not typical.

It's usually a bunch of sitdown racers, busted up Dynamos, Megatouches, and redemption. And that's what I expect to see back in the usual swing this year. *Sigh*

I'm praying for divine intervention.

darn that sucks, we have not had much auciton actuon around here (at least that I have seen and can attend)

Moma

Ill be there. I don't plan on buying anything and I never have bought anything at the auctions but you never know. Unfortunately im looking for a Star Wars. Chances on seeing another Star Wars that's not all full of bird shit, non-working, in need of a major restoration are pretty slim. See everyone Saturday sometime around 9:30am.

If I don't have to ref a football tournament in Hugo that day, I'll be there. Most likely just to look as the auctions have been pretty terrible in recent history, but who knows.

+1 to the person who said they would have been pissed if they drove from Chicago for the auction. I probably would have killed someone. I have to drive 40 minutes to get there and it almost isn't worth it.

No shit????

I am all over the Kid Niki , Lil Hustler , and Rough Ranger.

All you local scumbags better forget about those before you even head over. I have lots 'o money AND a big trailer !!!!!!!!

Seriously though... I wasn't going until I saw this list. Now I think I'll be playing me some TAPPER on Saturday night... no matter what the cost.

;-)

I will be wearing my lovely and stylish 'Got Change?' shirt artfully designed by Mr. Bill (that way you guys can recognize me and respect - not try to outbid a fellow KLOV'r)

I'll be there wearing my stylish gray long-sleeve KLOV Pacman T... sorry, but the Tapper will be mine (I gots me some deep pockets for it, assuming working condition and original.)

Seriously, looking forward to meeting some fellow KLOVers, I've met a few of you, and had trades, etc. with many, but haven't connected with most in the area, so if you see me, please introduce yourself.

Just took a look at the pics on the Grafe site... I think it's really cool that they hired Michael J. Fox to take the photos. (Am I going to hell for that comment?):p
