Hello,

Just thought I would say Hi since I am a new here. Hello. I joined because, I have what looks like a complete cabinet and 2 (mystery to me) electrical boxes for a Princess 1493, but the entire mechanism is missing. Would it be worthwhile to track down everything to bring her back to life, or is it too late? Nice meeting you, and Thanks!

Brian

Hello,

It's NEVER too late Brian! Welcome- can you post some pics of your juke?

In my opinion, if it's the only juke you have, it's worth restoring. :D

One alternative would be to use the cabinet to house (hide) a modern day stereo system with MP3/CD player or even a cheap PC with a sound card that feeds an amp. Then use the buttons to push the keys on the keyboard for the PC.

Just a random thought.

I wonder if anyone makes a 'guts replacement' of modern stuff for old Juke boxes?

This sort of arrangement is often made.

A practical solution to a problem, but such a disappointment to any visitor who at first mistakes it for "the real thing."

Here ya go. The modern day conversion sounds good for sure as a last resort.
