Rockola Eyes?

Here's a game that I've never seen or heard of before. How common are they? Did Rockola make any other video games?

They also made Nibbler, Pioneer Balloon, Jump Bug, Fantasy, Warp Warp and licensed a version of Star Castle.

If it was closer you'd have to beat me to it...

:)

If I didn't already have all the parts to build one, this would be mine. I have an extra screened repro CPO if anyone ever needs one.

I have one. Not fully restoring it, but bringing it back to life. Not much left to do and I will be listing it for sale on here.

I picked up a NOS Eyes marquee a little while ago. I don't really need it... I just bought it because I like the game. I've never seen the Rock-ola cab in person.

Eyes is a great game. Dare I say, more fun and challenging than the Pac's? :) I bought a board this year that is getting installed in a cocktail.

Eyes... great game! I play it on my 96-in-1 as much as I play the Pacs... and I'm now playing it on the ArcadeSD as well. My best score is hovering around 230K or so.

Eyes used a simple encryption scheme and we have a modified ROM available for the "96 in 1" that allows the kit to run on an Eyes board, so if you don't already have a Pac or Ms Pac....

It is a great game, I especially like the odd sounds used.

Case you missed it, here's a comp of the original vs. the new vectored and screened repro cpo:

If anyone needs one, please contact Rich.

Clay Cowgill's original "MultiPac" had Eyes on it and he set up the 1 player button to act as a fire button. I've actually enjoyed playing it. I've gotten to the 6th screen once or twice. Fun.

That's cool that it'll work on an Eyes board. I wonder how the Pac game sounds translate. Also, does the 96-in-1 work on a Ms. Pac 3 bootleg board?

The 96-in-1 does work on the Pac 3 bootleg and it has an optional jumper to support the 25xx and 27xx ROM families so you don't need to re-strap the board, just a simple shorting block move on the 96-in-1 5E board.

Other boards supported by the 96-in-1 are:

Pac1/Pac2
Falcon aka Pac3
Make Trax
Eyes
Piranha
Crush Roller

Each conversion is outlined in the manual on the last page.

That picture in the CL post looks a little sketchy. I should stop by there tomorrow and check it out. I am not going to buy it, but I am curious. I can play it on Mike's 96-1 kit ... which reminds me, why doesn't my kit have Piranha or Caterpillar on it?

There are a couple different revisions of the 96 in 1 code depending on what you like. We had lots of request to make a version without "Cookiemon" and "Mr & Mrs Pacman" (which is the only game requiring a cocktail for gameplay) and substituted Piranha and Caterpillar in their place.

The version with Piranha and Caterpillar is v2.54B

The regular version with Cookiemon and Mr & Mrs Pacman is v2.54

All code versions support uprights & cocktails, but if you're installing in an upright, the "B" version is recommended since it gives you an extra game. If you have a cocktail, the simultaneous two player Mr & Mrs Pacman is great.

Good to know. So, when ordering, you can request the B or non-B version?

Right now I'm assembling Multi Q*berts, but I ran 96 in 1 Multi Pac PCBs on the same layout, so they're already here along with all their components.

(Spoiler alert :)

There will be new lower pricing to compete with the regular high score kit market, and a new ordering system with 3 flavors:

1. v2.54
2. v2.54B
3. v2.54Eyes (with the 5E bootleg strapping mod & shorting block/pins installed)

First priority is the Multi Q*bert project, then I'll address the pent up 96 in 1 demand.

At the end of the day, it should be the clear choice to buy.
